About this site What is Rutgers Cooperative Extension? Rutgers Cooperative Extension is an educational organization operating on the local level throughout the state of New Jersey. Administrative headquarters are located in New Brunswick at the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station/Cook College, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Cooperative Extension offices are located in all of New Jersey's twenty-one counties. Through a variety of educational programs, Rutgers Cooperative Extension transmits practical information from the applied research of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station, other land-grant colleges, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to the people of New Jersey. An Extension to People County professional cooperative extension personnel include agricultural,
resource management, and marine agents, 4-H youth development agents,
and family and consumer sciences educators. Subject matter specialists
at the agricultural experiment station provide them with source information.
County and state staffs are faculty members of Cook College, Rutgers University.
In addition, program associates and paraprofessionals assist in education
and outreach in each of the program areas.
